Surreal Portraits by Noell Oszvald

Although she does not identify as a photographer per se (“I use photography as a base for the images I create,” she asserts), Hungarian visual artist Noell Oszvald has created an impressive collection of black and white portraits.

The striking series plays with tone, line, and shadow, producing a surreal effect. The images depict solitary figures in still backgrounds that evoke feelings of loneliness and melancholia.
