Drop Chair by Arne Jacobsen

In 1958, Arne Jacobsen came up with the Drop Chair as a part of his design masterpiece, the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. Though Jacobsen is now deceased, his famous chair is finally set for a mass release.

Put forth by Fritz Hansen, the Drop Chair was revolutionary in its time for its unprecedented use of molded foam technology. It also set new standards for space efficiency in furniture design.

Given that no original sketches of the chair were available, original models of the chair were pulled apart and 3D-scanned. However, model makers still had to be brought in to faithfully achieve the precise shape of the Drop.
