Who are you?
What do you do?
Founder & CEO of PANATEA.
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in NJ, about 35 minutes outside of NYC. When I was very young, my grandmother used to take me to the museums in NYC every Sunday. I think being exposed to culture at such a young age helped shape my appreciation for art and my love for music.
When did you take your first big risk in life?
Graduating college and going in to the music industry in 2007. Yikes.
Why have you persisted with the path you’re currently on?
It’s working! People are feeling a new sense of focused energy from PANATEA’s matcha and we’re also converting many coffee drinkers in the process. The testimonials we receive from customers could not be anymore gratifying.
Who is someone you’d love to work with, but can’t?
Howard Schultz, do I dare say we might be competitors?
What are you working on now?
Some new and exciting products are in R&D. I’ll leave it to your imagination.
Where do you spend most of your free time?
Eating, working out, meditating and getting lost in Spotify.
What do you think is your biggest success so far?
Simply launching PANATEA and taking a concept from idea to execution, while still working a full-time job, something I could have never done without my wife and co-founder. In the beginning there are so many naysayers, obstacles and things that can go left, way before you even put up the proverbial shingle.
I think the most important lesson I’ve learned is to stay focused and be relentless. Nothing happens overnight and nothing happens quickly or easily. The journey really makes you also appreciate and respect other entrepreneurs who have also walked in your footsteps.
