Jim Wong Interview

Jim Wong is a Hong Kong based graphic designer who’s best described as creative, innovative and energetic. He co-founded Good Morning, a creative workshop that specializes in identity, promotion, exhibitions, prints and publications.

Who are you?

I am Jim Wong, a graphic designer.

What do you do?

I co-founded the design studio Good Morning, which focus on identity, publication, exhibition design and small printing works.

Where did you grow up?

Hong Kong.


When did you take your first big risk in life?

When I thought that it was time to start my own studio, I decided to quit the job I was working at the time and focus on developing Good Morning.

Starting my own business was not a easy task, as it is not just about the design process and aesthetics, but also how to manage the company for it to operate smoothly.

Why have you persisted with the path you’re currently on?

I just love that I can create something that can make people happy.


Who is someone you’d love to work with, but can’t?

Yusaku Kamekura.

What are you working on now?

An event identity for a university programme, packaging design for a biscuit brand, and a biannual fashion magazine.


Who are a few people in your field that have influenced you?

Kashiwa Sato, L2M3, Wim Crouwel.

What do you think is your biggest success so far?

Creating my studio.
